Töll (Tel)
The collection of Bad Egart, a museum dedicated to the Austrian-Hungarian monarchy.
A treasure trove for lovers of the Habsburgs Monarchy with a variety of antiques and curious exhibits.
Bad Egart is considered to be the oldest Bath of Tyrol. The spring has demonstrably been used since 1430, although it is assumed that the Romans had already used it for therapeutic purposes. The bath was closed in 1970. The owner of today’s restaurant called Onkel Taa transformed the most important part of the building into an exhibition area in 2007. In addition to some exhibits of the old bath, you can visit the spa water springs, several Tyrolean lounges with a great collection of the Austrian-Hungarian monarchy (pictures, lithographs, engravings, busts and collection plates of Emperor Franz Josef I of Austria, Empress Sisi and Crown Prince Rudolf), a Biedermeier kitchen as well as a variety of folk exhibits. There also is an open air reproduction of the habitat of Ötzi the Iceman.
