Parcines Water fall
Water is an essential basic element of the Texelgruppe Nature Park. It not only appears in glaciers, springs, steams or lakes, but also shows its forming and landscaping power in the holiday village of Parcines.
The Parcines water fall, which is also visible from the Vinschgau valley, is one of the most impressive water falls of the entire Alpine region.
From the village centre, it is easily reached with the guest bus or by foot (approx. 1 1/2 hours). At the 'Gasthaus Wasserfall' (at 1,073 metres), a well secured path leads to an outlook platform from which you can admire this imposing natural spectacle close-up.
The remarkable water masses of the Ziel stream, which have there origin at about 2,800 altitude at the Lodnerferner mountain, fall first of all over several rocky terraces and then are thrown (by natural forces) over an almost vertical rocky wall into a depth of about 97 metres.
At its greatest force, the water fall can be admired at its strongest when the snow melts (May to July) or after strong rain (4,000 to 10,000 litres per second).
The humidity of the waterfall of Parcines is not only vitalising, but it also strengthens the immune system.
